There are lots of winter produce options available:

• The hot mushroom soup is delicious with a rich flavor – a great way to warm up!
• There are lots of fresh fish and seafood options.  The rockfish is in as is the catfish.  If it stays this warm, there will be crabs!  Check back later for some yummy oyster recipes.
• There are living heads of greens back for the first time.
• Baked goods, both sweet and savory, are in abundance.

On this beautiful winter Saturday, that felt more like April than January, the market was hopping.  After last weekends freezing rain, the sunshine was appreciated by the shoppers and producers both.  Even though it is the winter, the market offered meats, eggs, dairy, honey, preserves, breads, pasta, and an amazing selection of produce.  There were mushrooms, fresh greens, apples, onions, potatoes, squash, tomatoes, quince and more.
