Market News -- Chef at the Market June 18 at 10:00 AM

Chef Nathan Anda, Executive Chef at Tallula

Arlington's neighborhood restaurant Tallula has been combining seasonal, sustainable foods and trendy nightlife. Now, join Chef Nathan as he guides a tour through the Arlington Farmers Market (where he is a regular shopper) as he shares recipe hints and tips on preparing seasonable foods.
Nathan crafted his style and perfected his skills under some of the best chefs in the Washington, DC area. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, he worked the grill in several restaurants around Charlottesville, VA, before attending culinary school at the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont. Nathan moved to Washington, DC in the fall of 2002 to work under renowned chef Todd Grey at Equinox Restaurant. In the fall of 2003, Nathan moved to Ceiba Restaurant to work for chef Jeff Tunks. Nathan reunited with Chef Grey in January 2004 to help plan the menu and organize the kitchen for Market Salamander in Middleburg, Virginia. In June of that year, Nathan was tapped as executive chef for the Neighborhood Restaurant Group's latest project, Tallula, which opened in November 2004. Tip of the Month

You’ve been hearing about it. You’ve been meaning to do it. You keep making excuses why you haven’t.

So quick click the link below and on the right side of the screen, fill-in three boxes (age, gender, and activity level) for your personal food pyramid. It’ll take 15 seconds (modem speeds may vary).

The USDA’s new food pyramid declares, “One size doesn't fit all.” MyPyramid Plan can help you choose the foods and amounts that are right for you. For a detailed assessment of your food intake and physical activity level, click on MyPyramid Tracker.

(Hint: skip the second paragraph about the paperwork reduction act, and go to the tracker links at the bottom.)
