Jimmy Hogge, owner/fisherman of Buster’s seafood, became a fisherman at the early age of 13. Working with and for his brothers, it was a family affair. Buster’s Seafood was started in 1991 as an aquaculture Soft Shell Crab operation in his backyard 7 miles from the river. Jimmy uses the new technology that the Virginia Institute of Marine Science has developed for soft shell crab recirculation systems. As a river and bay fisherman, Jimmy enjoyed the abundance of seafood he caught. As time moved on he became aware that real fresh seafood was not reaching the people who loved it so much! Enjoy his fresh seafood in season, such as oysters and clams in shell or shucked, deviled crab, crab salad, softshell crabs and a variety of fish.
